Navy Seal Watch Buying Guide

The general design of most navy watches is fairly similar, robust, and mostly darker colors.

The bulkiness is due to the strong materials used, and a larger design with more material can help to absorb more shock in case the watch is dropped or knocked.

You will find variations in the movement of some watches – some being quartz and others being automatic. Furthermore, some navy seal watches hold analog displays while others have opted for a digital display.

Choosing between the two is entirely based on your personal preference and you will find both options in our reviews.

Generally speaking, a watch used by a navy seal’s first priority is to be as tough as possible with longevity. Appearances and fashion values are soon after that.

Materials in these kinds of high strength, resistant watches are imperative. Some popular materials include mineral glass, resin, plastic, and stainless steel.

Stainless Steel

This iron-carbon alloy is a well-used material in most watches available today, as well as some almost ancient watch designs.

It’s favored for watch cases due to its strength and scratch-resistant properties. It’s also very lightweight compared to other options which help to keep a watch comfortable to wear.

If you are interested in stainless steel watches, Citizen makes one of the best on the market, so make sure you read our Citizen watches reviews

A downside of a stainless steel watch case is that it is not the most natural water-resistant when it’s sealed on the edges.

This is why some watches with higher water-resistant properties go for a resin watch case. If your number one priority is water resistance, it may be best to go with the latter.

Resin is a strong and pliable polymer, often used to watch designs due to these features.

It differs from stainless steel watch cases due to its better resistance to water, Some watches with higher water resistance properties go for a resin watch case. If your number one priority is water resistance, it may be best to go with this option.

Navy seal watches are well known for their resilience, however many of them come with a variety of features that are beneficial for everyday use.

Simple features can include alarms, stopwatch, and timer functions as well as backlights for the display.

All of these combined make the watches even more appealing to the general market, no matter what your needs are from a watch!

Water Resistance

A very popular feature of modern watches is water-resistant or waterproof capabilities, especially for Navy Seals who will be required to be in wet or damp environments often.

The waterproof capabilities can vary from water-resistant for everyday use in the shower or washing hands. It can also extend to water resistance underwater to 200 meters in a navy seal dive watch!

You’ll find our reviewed watches above include water resistance capabilities.

Pricing Range

As with most watches on the market, the price range for a watch worn by navy seals can vary quite drastically.

In our reviews above you will have seen prices vary from as little as 60 pounds with brands such as Casio, while other more expensive watches from Luminox can be over 200 pounds.

With these models, the price range varies significantly between digital and analog watches.

The analog versions (those with the numbers and bezels) cost more, usually due to them requiring a mechanism to tell the time.

On the other hand, digital watches use electronic technology to work, such as liquid crystal.

Prices can also vary due to the materials used. For example, some versions of resin material (often used as a strong and durable watch case material) can be cheaper than plastic alternatives.

Likewise, mineral glass is a less expensive option than sapphire crystal glass.

Although you may think the most expensive one is the best, popular models such as G-SHOCK by Casio are very well-renowned as sturdy watches while keeping the price lower than other models!
