Best Invicta Watches Reviews

Updated November 3, 2020

Brand History

The brand has a rich history, dating back to 1837, in Chaux-de-Fonds, Switzerland. The Invicta watches business was founded by the Picard family whose members wanted to develop innovative Swiss mechanical watches with a focus on both manual and automatic-winding mechanisms.

Given that the Invicta meaning is ‘invincible’ in Latin, there is no wonder why or how the brand is still going strong today. The Picard family continued to make Swiss watches until the 1970s when the entire industry of watchmaking was shaken to the core by the so-called quartz crisis. This led to a wide array of Invicta watches with quartz movements at a more affordable price.

Invicta struggled as a brand until 1991 when it was acquired by a US-based investor whose mission was to continue making great watches and maintain affordable prices. Today, the brand covers a wide range of styles and designs.

1. Invicta – Men’s 1088 Russian Diver Watch

Highlights

The Russian Diver series of mechanical watches was created in honor of the 1959 watch commissioned by the Russian Naval Fleet. The design is bold and grabs viewers’ attention through its striking size (51.5 mm case), the intricacies of its inner workings visible through the skeleton window, and overall build quality.

The black polyurethane strap has stainless steel barrel accents that blend perfectly with the stainless steel bezel and large screw-down cap. Moreover, the analog display and precise mechanical hand-wind movement provide the 1088 Russian Diver with a bit of extra elegance and finesse.

The inner mechanisms are protected by a synthetic sapphire crystal lens which features a black skeleton dial. The watch also has a 60-second sub-dial which makes the entire mechanism even more fascinating.

Lastly, the 1088 Russian Diver men’s skeleton watch is built using high-quality materials, it is water-resistant to 165 feet (50m) and is thoroughly tested before being released on the market. So, this is a reliable timepiece that commands attention in every setting.

Still, this doesn’t mean it is difficult to read – it just sets the attention on the Skeleton dial, which charms you with the movements of all those tiny elements!

The case is big (52mm) and is made from a gold-tone stainless steel material with a synthetic sapphire dial. The system needs to be hand-wind, but this is not too much of an inconvenient once you get used to the idea.

Invicta Watch Buying Guide

Technology

While there is some research in place for a special type of movement under the Invicta brand, right now these watches feature two types of movements: quartz and automatic. In addition, the brand features several series, but two of them stand out the most: the Pro Diver series and the Lupah series.

The Pro Diver series features high-quality designs with amazing water-proof qualities and impressive build. These timepieces are aimed at adventurers and athletes who want a design that looks good but also brings value for their activity. On the other hand, the Lupah series promotes the Invicta watch quality towards Millennials and young professionals. These are timepieces that focus on modern design and diversity.

Where Are They Made?

Even though the brand has deep Swiss roots, not all their timepieces are 100% Swiss. In fact, most of their quartz-powered designs originate in Asia. But, who makes Invicta watches?

Most of their low-cost designs are made in China with Japanese NH35A movements produced separately. However, some of the higher-priced watches are made in Switzerland, with Swiss movements (such as the Sellita SW500 or SW200).

What Makes them Stand Out?

The Invicta watches reputation talks about high-quality materials, impressive designs, and affordable prices, which is exactly the main reason why they stand out. In addition, the brand covers several impressive series, ranging from low-cost designs to Swiss-made timepieces that are still accessible to the regular folks.

So, Invicta watches manage to stand out through a combination of diversity of styles, quality of materials, reliable movements, and affordable prices.

Warranty, Return and Exchange Policy

Every Invicta watch is accompanied by a limited three years warranty that covers manufacturing defects in materials and workmanship. The Invicta warranty kicks in from the date of purchase from an authorized dealer and doesn’t cover the lens, crown, strap, bracelet, or battery. Also, it doesn’t cover any accidental damage or improper use.

Users can send their watch for evaluation to any of the Invicta authorized repair centers (scattered across the world) but they will be charged a flat fee and must pay return shipping.

Returns and exchange will be handled according to the terms and conditions specified by the dealer from which the product was purchased.
