Nurse Watches

In a job that requires long hours, constant focus, and a sharp mind, nurses and other medical professionals need all the help they can get. As such, we see an increasing trend of what marketers like to call nursing watches or nurses’ watches. These are regular watches designed to fit the craziness and mayhem of a nurse’s daily job.

The best medical watches must be comfortable to wear, water-resistant, easy to clean (especially the band), and have great visibility.

As you will see from our reviews below, the best watches for nurses also must be accurate. In addition, they need to be oriented around the tasks of a medical professional such as taking the pulse or accurately stating the time in both 12 and 24h formats.

We haven’t reviewed any lapel watches or watches designed to attach nurse’s belt loop in this article but will consider them for a later post.

Highlights

This is a watch that’s very comfortable on the wrist due to the silicone band that’s versatile (it fits wrist sizes from 6.7” to 8.3”) and very soft. Moreover, it is easy to clean, which is crucial for nurses and other medical professionals.

The watch is water-resistant, for up to 99ft (30m) and features a 3-hand quartz movement. It’s also extremely easy to read due to the white analog dial with black hour markers (for the 12h format) and red markers for seconds and the 24h format. One of the reasons we think this is a good watch for nurses is the red second hand, which is highly visible and extremely useful when taking the pulse.

The quartz movement is powered by one SR 626 silver oxide battery (it comes with the watch) and is protected by a slim stainless steel case cover. Overall, the watch is eye-catching but also useful for people who need an accurate timepiece.
